Obituary
Fedelina "Eleanor" Gaona, 71, of Brighton passed away at home on April 2, 2020. She was born to Salestino and Manuelita Mascarenas on October 29, 1948 in Fruita, CO. She was a long time resident of Brighton, where she graduated from Brighton High School in 1967. On April 19, 1969, she married her surviving husband, Serapio Gaona "Jr."
She loved music and dancing. She also loved to do cross stitch, crocheting and other crafts. She would put all her love into everything she made since they were usually a gift for a friend or family member. On Sundays she attended church at St. Augustine and then went to bingo; where she really didn't win much, but enjoyed visiting with her many friends more than anything.
Along with her husband Serapio Gaona, she is survived by her daughter Lanetta (John Archuleta) Firstintrouble of Brighton. Her son, Samuel (Alex) Gaona of Brighton. Granddaughters, Yvette Ortega, Aiyana Firstintrouble and Lita Gaona and grandsons, Levi Ortega, Keith Firstintrouble and Gustavo Gaona. Also 2 great-grandsons, Damien and Torien Martinez. Surviving siblings are her sister, Sally Candelario, and 3 brothers, Mike, John and Gilbert Mascarenas.
Eleanor's Father, Mother, 2 brothers, Kenneth and Ted Mascarenas, and one grandson, Kenneth Gaona preceded her in death.
Eleanor was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
