Frankie Tamayo Obituary



It is with great sadness that the family of Frankie “Frank” Tamayo, announces his passing on September 4, 2021 in Brighton, Colorado at the age of fifty eight. He was born to John Tamayo, Jr. and Mary García Tamayo on April 24, 1963.


Frank graduated from Brighton High School in 1981. He earned an Associate’s Degree in business from the Community College in Denver, Colorado. Frank furthered his education through the State of Colorado training and certification programs.


For over 20 years, Frank worked for the State of Colorado. He worked for the Governor’s Office; Office of Economic Development and Trade; and the Department of Local Affairs.


Frank enjoyed travelling. His travel adventures included, Europe, Mexico and the Bahamas. He also had the opportunity to travel through our country.


Frank was a sports enthusiast. On the top of his list was the Denver Broncos, win or lose. He followed all the Colorado teams, including the university and college teams.


Frank played all sports, but his favorite game to play was golf. Frank was able to realize his dream to play the most picturesque, yet challenging golf courses in the west.


Frank loved his family above all else. He showed his love by honoring his family…through respect, his words, and his actions.


Frank is survived by his sisters; Tina Tamayo, Juanita Tamayo and Linda Tamayo of Brighton, CO; brother; Mike Tamayo (Tammy) of Gilbert. AZ; uncle; Bobby Tamayo (Ruby) of Northglenn, CO; nieces; Chelsea Tamayo (Enrique Sánchez), Northglenn, CO, Marie Tamayo, Denver, CO, nephews; Justin Tamayo, Gilbert, AZ, Jeremy Tamayo (Valerie), Maricopa, AZ,  great nephew; Vicente Sánchez, Northglenn, CO; great niece, Emilee Tamayo, Maricopa, AZ; aunt; Ines Gómez, Lakewood, CO; many cousins, good friends and furry friends.


Frank was preceded in death by his parents; John Jr. and Mary Tamayo; his paternal grandparents, John Sr. and Ruby Tamayo; maternal grandparents, John and Andrea García, uncle; Gilbert Tamayo, and uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and furry friends.
