Gary Tuten passed away January 13, 2026. He was born March 29, 1944 to Kenneth and Marcella Tuten in Quinter Kansas. The family moved to Aurora, Colorado. His parents owned a wrecking yard, where Gary grew in his love for cars. He served in the US Army from 1965 to 1967 as a dog handler in Thailand. He loved America and his dogs.
Gary went to Auctioneer school, served as a bartender in Lake Tahoe, worked as a carpet installer, drove sprint cars, built hot rods, designed and built houses, mentored young people, and loved traveling the country, by car, of course.
Gary is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann, his sister, Shirley Corken (Rich), his brother Ken Tuten (Mavis) and many, much loved, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
Over the last several months, Gary has spoken of his gratitude to his father for teaching him to work with his hands and his mother who made sure he was instructed in his faith.
He accepted his illness and said it was all part of God’s plan. His final wish in this life was to have a Catholic funeral Mass and be buried at Ft. Logan. God granted his wish.
