Genevieve Joeann Roybal
January 1, 1974 — July 4, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Genevieve Joeann Roybal, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this world on July 4, 2025, in Weld County, Colorado. Born on January 1, 1974, Genevieve graced our lives for over five decades, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know her.
Genevieve was the daughter of Ruby Ann Montoya and John Roybal. She was preceded in death by her long-time partner, Robert Whitaker, as well as her beloved mother, Ruby Ann Montoya, her grandfather, Ruben Montoya, and her grandmothers, Anita Rojo and Della Roybal. She also mourned the loss of her stepsister, Melanie Martinez.
Despite the challenges she faced, Genevieve was a beacon of love and hope for her family. She is survived by her father, John Roybal, her stepmom, Jeanette Lopez, her sister Janea (Louis) Roybal, and her beloved children: Cody (Liliana) Roybal, Jaylene Maes, LeAndra Roybal, and Jayden Maes. Along with her aunt, Eleanor Muniz, grandchildren Izayiah, Emiliana, Efrain, and Namari. Genevieve’s uncles Cecilio Guerrero, Ruben Montoya, and Ralph (Shelia) Montoya. Her beloved God-Sister, Esperanza Robles. Genevieve also took in a beautiful baby girl, Genavicia, as her own, showcasing her boundless capacity for love.
Genevieve graduated from Brighton High School and pursued further education at PIMA Medical School, where she cultivated her passion for medical billing and coding. She dedicated her career to caring for others as a caregiver, embodying compassion and empathy in every role she undertook. Genevieve was an active member of her community, ushering at The Healing Place, where she brightened the lives of many.
Those who knew Genevieve will remember her for her vibrant spirit and her unwavering loyalty to family and friends. She was a woman of God, who loved unconditionally and always put the needs of others before her own. Her love for her children and grandchildren knew no bounds, and her laughter was infectious. Genevieve had a unique charm that drew people in, and for those lucky enough to know her, there truly was no one like her.
Her interests included a fascination with healing crystals and tarot cards, which she often used to spread positivity and guidance among her loved ones. And of course, she was never far from her slushy margaritas, a testament to her fun-loving personality and zest for life.

Genevieve Joeann Roybal will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Her spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren and in the hearts of her family and friends.
