George Zary Janich was born in Englewood, Colorado on November 14, 1935, to Zary and Margaret Janich. George married Dorothy (Modig) Janich in 1958. He had one brother, David (Jean) Janich and one sister, Anna Janich. He had four children, Ed (Lisa) Janich, Tom (Aimee) Janich, John Janich, and Julie (Mike) Walker. He had seven grandchildren, Ashley, James, Jessica, Sara, Rachael, Josh, and Mandy, three great-grandchildren, Chloe, Beckett and Hudson. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dorothy, brother David, son John and daughter Julie.
George graduated from Aurora High School in 1953 and then joined the US Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1960. George obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado: Boulder. He worked at Safeway and Martin Marietta before working at IBM - retiring after 25 years in 1991. He then went on to work at his son’s (Ed Janich) copier companies FEL and NSDI until 2015.
Dad loved being with and helping his family out anytime. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He belonged to The American Legion and was a 33-degree Mason. He loved to wear his favorite Navy cap every day and always appreciated getting a military discount. We would like to thank all those businesses that give veterans the discount. He loved going to the Brighton Rec Center with his loving girlfriend, Betty Becker.
Lastly and most importantly, George has gone to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He is now reunited with his wife, family members, friends and past generations in Christ. God Bless you, Dad, we thank you from the bottom to the top of our hearts. We could never have asked for a better Dad and the beautiful family you helped create. We will miss you dearly.
