“To Know Him is to Love Him”
George B. Ramirez, 71, of Brighton, Colorado, passed on December 21, 2020, in Lufkin, Texas, while visiting his son, Brian Ramirez, and his grandchildren.
He was born, on March 14, 1949, to Daniel Ramirez and Mary Grace Roybal-Ramirez, in Denver, Colorado. His siblings include Shirley Aragon of Thornton, Thomas and Lynda Ramirez of Ft. Lupton, and Rudy and Rachel Ramirez of Brighton, all of Colorado.
He graduated from Brighton High School in 1968. Marrying the love of his life, Linda Madrid, in 1971, in Reno, Nevada. They had their marriage blessed in 1972, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Brighton, Colorado. They are parents to four sons, Patrick, Thomas, George Jr., and Brian.
He spent seven years in the Navy, which includes two tours of duty in Vietnam. Later, he worked as a truck driver, a welder at the Alameda Naval Base in California, and a clerk for the Park Police at Presidio in San Francisco, California.
He never missed his sons’ sporting events while they were growing up. He enjoyed spending time with his Grandkids; Patrick, Stephen, Jordan, Christian, Gianna, Kylie, Julia, Brianna, Marie, Mickey Mouse, and Hogan.
His hobbies included fishing, game night, dancing, cooking, eating his favorite foods (especially pancakes), watching movies, football, and other games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard, a loving niece, Yvonne Sack, and other numerous relatives.
Rosary/Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, Jan. 23rd at Fairview Cemetery
