Gloria Cundall Obituary

Gloria Ann Cundall

Gloria Ann Cundall was born on November 30, 1954, to Howard Frederich Cundall and Grace Anne (Zehnder) Cundall. She was welcomed home by her three sisters at the family farm seven miles west of Brighton, CO. Her sisters remember her many activities and antics as they were growing up on the farm and participating in their various 4-H activities and projects. The dedication to 4-H was instilled in the girls from their dad and mom who worked with young people for nearly 70 years. Gloria carried on the tradition and was the most devoted to helping the Good-Luck 4-H club and its many years of members to achieve their goals and develop into proud citizens.

Gloria loved traveling and was working toward visiting each state. Her trip to Switzerland and England with her mom was the most memorable as she brought home many stories and pictures about the Cundall and Zehnder family heritage. She was the family authority on both family’s ancestries.

After attending elementary school at a small country school in Eastlake, Colorado, she attended Huron Jr. High and graduated from Northglenn High School. After high school, Gloria attended Colorado State University and earned her degree in Home Economics Education. Her teaching career allowed her to make many friends in Idalia, Hugo, and Calahan, Colorado. Her organizational skills lead her to a career in contract closing with Lockhead Martin. It was at Lockhead where she met Peter Starin who preceded her in death. Gloria was a caregiver to Howard and Grace when they were both in positions to need extra special care.

As time passed, Gloria met “her mechanic” Marlen Schafer. Marlen and Gloria spent many wonderful times together traveling and pursuing Gloria’s 4-H activities as a leader of the Good-Luck Education and recreation association, and as the Colorado Director of Make it With Wool.

Gloria is survived by her fiancé, Marlen Schafer, her sisters, Margaret E. Burnett (Jerry), Paula J. Tietmeyer (Scott), and Virginia L. Halligan (Bill). Her nephews, Jeffrey (Kim) Burnett, Jay (Lisa) Burnett, Cody Halligan, Paul Tietmeyer and her nieces, Ann (Kurtis) Gebauer, JoElla (Andrew) Norman. Their children, Reese (Hannah) Burnett, Layne Burnett, Cash Burnett, Koyen Gebauer, Kaeden Gebauer, Dalton Norman, Emma Norman, Brenden Halligan and Ainsley Halligan, and one great-great niece, Locklynn Burnett.
