Gordon LeRoy Moeller was born in Thornton, Colorado to Jesse and Francis (Shoemaker) Moeller. He married Carolyn Swink in 1975 and had an instant family with his stepchildren Janet, Darren and Doug. In 1977 LeRoy was born to Gordon and Carolyn.
He was raised with his siblings Danny, Randy and Pam in Fort Morgan. During his childhood he loved riding his horse, playing football and working in the Oilfield at a very young age. Right after High School Gordon joined the Navy. After the war, Gordon dedicated his whole working career to the Oilfield Industry. He was well known for his knowledge and leadership in the energy production industry for many years.
When not working, Gordon was a dedicated Father and Grandfather. His advice, whether serious or lighthearted will be unforgettable to his family and friends for years to come. Some of his sayings are still repeated by his children and grandchildren everyday – like his famous “never trust a wall-eyed horse”. His humor was infectious and everybody who knew him would never forget him.
As a grandfather, he was the embodiment of unconditional love and laughter. He instilled the love of horse/mule ownership in his sons and granddaughters. He was a wealth of knowledge in this equestrian hobby and rescued several mules. The “wild” horse stories he told his grandchildren are still talked about today. His stories and legacy will live on with his grandchildren that he loved so dearly.
Gordon is preceded in death by his wife Carolyn, parents, daughter Janet and grandson Zach Capra, and brother Danny.
Gordon is survived by his sons, LeRoy Moeller, Darren Swink and Doug (Janon) Swink; along with his grandchildren, Jennifer, Candice, Saige, Wesley, KyAnn and Troy.
