Guadalupe “Lupio” Gonzales was born on September 8th 1947, In Robstown, Texas to Gabriel Gonzalez and Manuela Diaz. He spent the first years of his life going back and forth from Robstown to Floyada, Texas cotton picking. On December 11th 1965, at the age of 18, he married the love of his life, Raquel Camacho, and went on to have six children, followed by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Lupio was a dedicated truck driver for over 40+ years. Enjoyed every minute until he retired and was happy to see his son, son-in-law's and grandsons follow in the same profession.
He loved fishing with his longtime friends, bike rides, relaxing in the sun while drinking a cold one, loved working on his Ford trucks-always made sure they were clean and shiny. He loved searching for antiques and enjoyed gardening and camping in the mountains with his wife Raquel. Both Lupio and Raquel enjoyed trips to his hometown, Robstown, Texas. Lupio always had a great sense of humor and always made others smile and had longtime friends. Lupe was a great father/brother/uncle/grandfather/great grandfather and loved all his family very much! He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He always made time for everyone and enjoyed seeing all his family together at gatherings.
Lupio is survived by his wife Raquel Gonzales and 5 children, Terri (Ebenecer) Benitez, Lisa (Sergio) Orozco, Adam (Rosie Núñez) Gonzales, Jeannie Gonzales and Kayla Gonzales (Arnol Bonilla); along with his grandchildren, Laura, Sandra, Valerie, Luis, Selena, Chejo, Adam Jr. and Josiah and great grandchildren Jaycob, Jiyanna and his one sister and two brothers.
