Harvey Floyd Nye

Harvey Floyd Nye, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and professional nap-taker, passed away peacefully on October 30th 2025 at the age of 84. He lived a good life, loved his family deeply, and somehow always knew exactly where the best drinks were hidden.

Born on February 10th 1941, in Tullahoma Tennessee, Harvey had a talent for making people laugh, even when they didn't want to. He never missed a chance to tell a good joke, repeat a story we'd all heard a hundred times, or remind us that "they don't make things like they used to."

He spent his days enjoying watching his shows, antiquing, tinkering and could fix just about anything with duct tape, impatience, and a few muttered words under his breath.

Harvey leaves behind his wife Carmel, sister Diane, daughter Tandy, son Kelly, grandchildren Wayne, Cory, Jason, Amanda, Brice, Ebony and great-grandchildren; who will forever miss his laughter, his advice, and his ability to fall asleep in his chair within seconds of sitting down. He was preceded in death by his parents Edith and Kenneth, and his brother Kenny who we are certain greeted him with open arms and probably a sarcastic comment.

He served in the United States Navy for 2 years. We are forever grateful for his service.

We will miss him dearly- but we know he's somewhere smiling, telling a joke, and probably trying to repair something that "was working just fine yesterday."

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date (details to be announced). In his honor, we invite everyone to share a story, enjoy a snack, and remember that life is always better when you can laugh through it.
