Harvey was born in Wilbur, WA on January 12, 1950 to Milo and Helen Timm and was the youngest in the family. He grew up on a wheat farm in eastern Washington. Growing up, he kept his mom on her toes. When Harvey was around four years old, he climbed to the top of the windmill. He would not climb back down and his mom was afraid of heights. She had to climb up and bring him down. As soon as dad came home for supper, the bottom six feet of the ladder was removed.
After high school, Harvey moved to Minnesota and worked making Malto meal. In 1969, Harvey enlisted in the Navy and went through basic training in San Diego, CA. He was then transferred to Norfolk, VA and assigned to HM-12 Helicopter mine counter measures squadron. He was then sent to the Philippines. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Soon after leaving the service, he made his way to Colorado. Harvey met the love of his life in 1980 while working in the oil and gas industry. Harvey and Chris were married in 1982 in Brighton, Colorado. Their daughter Leah Louise was born in September, 1985. Two years later, along came their son, Cory Jason. Harvey adored his children and grandchildren and was a very active father and grandfather. Harvey was a dad to more than his children - he welcomed everyone.
He loved being outdoors and enjoying camping, four-wheeling, fishing and gardening. Harvey retired as a pipe-fitter six years ago and had enjoyed his retirement.
Harvey is survived by his wife Christine; daughter, Leah and Gustavo Medina; grandchildren, Joslyn and Jacob; son, Cory and Isabelle; sister, Pauline James; brothers in law, Patrick and Lynne Erger and Butch and Maria Erger; sister in law, Judy and Beef Graeb. He is preceded in death by both parents; a sister; and his father in law.
