Henry B. Montoya Sr.
“Hank”
Henry B. Montoya Sr., affectionately known as Hank, was born on July 14, 1939, in Chama, Colorado to Leandro and Severa Montoya. He was the youngest of 12 children. He spent his life devoted to his family, his work, and the simple pleasures that brought him joy.
Hank married Betty Burnett in 1959 and later married Roselina Medina in 1967. Throughout his life, he worked as a machine operator in California, for Gardner Denver and later at the Coors Recycling Plant, where he was known for his strong work ethic and dedication.
Hank had a love for fast cars, trips to the casinos, and cheering on his Denver Broncos. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He never missed an opportunity to tell his corny jokes, make people laugh and show off his dance moves.
Henry is survived by his daughters Cheryl, Nancy, Cindy, and Monica (James); eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his only son, Henry B. Montoya Jr.; and his former spouses, Betty Burnett and Roselina Montoya.
Henry will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love for his family, and the legacy he leaves behind through generations who loved him deeply.
