Hunter Douglas Barr
Hunter was born October 26th, 2004 in Fort Collins, CO to Craig Barr and Carrie (Nebelsick) Rivera and was the youngest of 5 siblings. He passed at the age of 16 on Monday, April 26th, 2021 in Aurora, CO
Hunter was raised in Keenesburg, CO and the surrounding area. He was a sophomore at Weld Central High School, having previously attended Hoff Elementary and Weld Central Middle School. Hunter particularly enjoyed the industrial arts curriculum Weld Central provided, including woodshop and agriculture classes. He was enrolled in the welding program at Aims Community College, set to begin this fall.
Hunter participated in wrestling, soccer, baseball, football, basketball, track & field, and golf. He was naturally gifted and excelled at anything he attempted. Hunter was happiest outdoors, especially playing in the ditch with his brothers as a kid or hunting and fishing as he got older. He had a passion for agriculture, whether working cattle or helping his father in the fields. Hunter communicated with his brothers almost daily through social media and loved playing online video games with them. His love of music was diverse and one of his favorite genres was old time country.
Hunter maintained an aura of confidence and swagger no matter where he was or who he was surrounded by. He did not stray from who he was for anybody and was consistently the most approachable, relatable, and funniest guy in the room. Hunter made friends with everybody, wherever he went.
Hunter is survived by his parents Craig (Dawn) Barr of Keenesburg and Carrie (Quentin) Rivera of Brighton, CO; his siblings Tyler (Kate) Nebelsick of Evans, CO, Rebecca Pannunzio of Pueblo, CO, Austin Inskeep of Keenesburg, Garrett Barr of Loveland, CO, Jayden Rivera and Darion Rivera of Brighton, and Icecyss Sussex of Keenesburg; his grandparents Ron and Pat Nebelsick of Fort Collins, Evan and Jacquetta Barr of Wray, CO; great-grandmother Marjorie Nebelsick of Alexandria, SD; his aunts and uncles and numerous cousins.
