Jacob “Jake” Martinez was born in Denver, Colorado to Jacobo and Joann Martinez and was the youngest of Jacobo and Joann’s children. Jake was married to Andrea Scott in 2014 but enjoyed 26 years together in total celebrating life, friendship, and happiness.
Jake grew up in Commerce City, Colorado where he spent his time with family and friends. During his time growing up, Jake made many lifelong friends who are family rather than friends. The friends Larry Lucero, Lorenzo Lobato, Mike Anderson, Mauricio Garcia, and many others, were a true example of friendship. Many nights they spent together talking, laughing, and playing their favorite game “Dungeons and Dragons”. Early on Jake enjoyed spending time with his nephews Ernest Martinez and Angelo Martinez. He would pick them up on the weekend to spend time playing video games, going to amusement parks, movies, and just hanging out. Later in life as he began a family of his own, he cherished time with his kids; Alexis, Jacob, Hannah, his grandchildren, Nephews Randall and Christian Scott, and great niece Kristell Martinez. Family was always a top priority for Jake, especially the kids! The kids always had a place to stay, food to eat, or just somewhere to hangout at Jake’s home. In the last few years Hannah and Jake had the opportunity to build a special bond between father and daughter.
Jake is survived by his wife Andrea, Son Jacob IV, Daughter Alexis, Daughter Hannah, 3 beautiful grandkids Anastasia, Armani, and Cassandra, His father Jacobo Martinez, Sister Lupe Banuelos, Sister Stella Lucero, Brother Ricky Martinez. He is preceded in death by his mother Joann Martinez.
