James Andy Burns, born on August 22, 1961, in Albany, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2025. He was 63 years old. James’s journey brought him to Colorado, where he met the love of his life, Carrie Lynn Burns. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising two sons, Deaven James Burns and Gavin Scot Burns, who carry on his legacy. James’s life was marked by his vibrant passion for ice skating and hockey. His love for the rink began at an early age and stayed with him throughout his life. Later, he became a beloved hockey coach, sharing his knowledge, dedication, and enthusiasm for the sport with players of all ages. Driving the Zamboni and crafting perfect sheets of ice brought him immense joy, combining his love of machinery with his passion for the sport he adored. His appreciation for equipment and heavy machinery extended beyond the rink, as he took great pride in working at Elmwood Cemetery in Brighton, Colorado. He found fulfillment and purpose in his work there, leaving a lasting impact on the community he cherished. James was a devoted father, a passionate worker, and a kind soul whose memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He is survived by his sons, Deaven and Gavin, who will forever treasure his guidance, humor, and unwavering love. James Andy Burns will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and the many lives he touched along the way.
