Janet Louise Huett (Brethauer) passed away peacefully on February 18, 2025, in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 12, 1942, in Greeley, Colorado, to John and Elvina Brethauer and was raised in Fort Lupton, where she attended Fort Lupton High School.
In 1959, Janet married the love of her life, Robert Leslie Huett, and together they built a home in Commerce City (formerly Derby, CO). Their marriage of 54 years was filled with love and the joy of raising their three children: Sheryl, Donald, and David.
Janet held many jobs throughout her life but found her greatest joy as a homemaker, creating a warm and welcoming home for her family. She had a love for ceramics and always found comfort in the company of her beloved pet birds. A passionate bingo player, she enjoyed trips to Black Hawk, where she could often be found trying her luck and sharing laughter with friends.
Janet is survived by her brothers, Lloyd, Edward, and Chuck; her sister, Cindy; her children, Sheryl, Donald, and David; her grandchildren, Weston and Dionna; and her great-grandchild, Tristan. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert, who passed in 2014, as well as her parents, John and Elvina.
Janet will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
