Janice Mary Green
Janice was number 10 of 11 children born to Ralph and Helen Kramer. She was born on November 11, 1934, along with her twin sister Janet. Janice’s father Ralph was a storekeeper, and her mother Helen was a housewife. The family lived in Hammond, Indiana, and in August of 1942 they moved to Denver CO, due to Janice’s climatic asthma. In 1947 the family relocated north of Denver to Peckham CO, in which the family owned and operated a gas station and icehouse. The family moved to Denver a few years later and her father worked as storefront designer.
Janice attended St Francis Elementary School and then Cathedral High School. She took a job in downtown Denver that made hair coloring. Janice applied to be a nun but was advised she needed more life experience and then reapply. She enjoyed roller skating, dancing, playing accordion and made faith a priority in her life. Janice was popular with the fellas & finally met her dream man, a strong Catholic country fella by the name of Bob, whom the family loved. They were married November 22nd, 1958.
They had five children Ed (Teresa), Leo, Jeanne (Philip), John (Melinda) & Robert (Geri) 28 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren (+2 on the way).
Throughout her life, Janice loved the Lord, family & friends. She was a hard-worker, firm with her children (although they knew how to soften her), dedicated to her husband and always the Lord first in her life. Janice had a deep devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the daily rosary was a part of her entire life. She promoted the Brown Scapular and was a champion for modesty.
Bob passed away in 1996 and Janice never skipped a beat, ever keeping active in Church and with her grandchildren. Her life was exemplified in her children. They have remained strong in their faith and have passed that faith on to their children. She loved her grandchildren and play a special role in their development.
Janice invested in her siblings keeping in contact and developing stronger bonds with them in the later years, especially with Betty and Janet. Her hip and then knee gave out in her last years. Leo dedicated his life to her care and the two developed an exceptional bond. She died a holy and happy death, at home, on January 21, 2025.
