It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janis (Epps/Hamilton) Wassenaar of Denver, Colorado. A loving wife, mother, sister, and a dear friend to many. She peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.

Janis was born on February 14, 1956, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.  She grew up living all over the world before graduating from Newark High School in Delaware. She joined the Army and served her country with pride and honor.  After the military, she received her bachelor’s degree from California State University Bakersfield.

Janis was a devoted wife to her loving husband and a wonderful mother to her two children. She had a deep love for football and was quite the collector of many things. She enjoyed spending time with her husband fishing and camping, and these were some of her fondest memories.

Janis will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, and ability to create joy for those around her. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her.

Janis is survived by her husband Ronney, two children; Michael and Corey Hamilton, and two brothers; Donald and David Epps.
