Jean Hisako Yamashita Okubo
Jean was born November 25, 1923, in Broderick, California. She passed away on October 24, 2025, in Loveland Colorado. Jean married Bill M. Okubo in January 1946 (passed November 1, 2010) and had 5 children; Carole Okubo Noriyuki, William Okubo (passed May 7, 2025), Sheridan Okubo Doran, Randall Okubo and April Okubo.
Our mother was the most amazing, resourceful, inspirational and positively joyful person to have as a parent. She was always that person who said why not give it a try.
Our mother loved to travel and was blessed to see the who of China and Hong Kong. Traveled up the Nile, the Pyramids of Egypt, The Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, Drove the Amalfi Coast, seen the Colosseum, Pompeii, kissed the Blarney Stone, flew by helicopter over the Kiawah volcano, and too many more to list.
In essence, she had lived a full life. Before she passed, she wants to wish everyone “The ability to live each day to its fullest; as tomorrow is not promised to anyone.”
Time is your most precious commodity, don’t waste it!
Now she’s off to her new adventure. We will miss her deeply. She will be in our hearts forever!
