Jeffrey Tesch Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden and unexpected passing of Jeffrey Arlon Tesch, of Brighton, Colorado on March 15th, 2023 as he succumbed to complications of lung cancer, after going through a valiant fight completing his first run of chemotherapy and radiation.  Jeff was born on October 18th, 1967 in Austin, Minnesota, making him a devoted Vikings fan despite spending most of his growing up years in Brown Deer, Wisconsin. Jeff graduated from Brown Deer High School in 1986 where he had many close friends, some very fun times, a fast car, motorcycle, and many wonderful memories. Jeff had a great love for animals, big or small, for you would often see him driving his motorcycle with his small dog companion Cinnamon “Cindy” proudly sitting between his legs.

Jeff moved with his parents back to Minnesota shortly after graduation, but he was never one to sit still and soon was making friends and creating more fun memories.  One of his jobs was working for the Mayflower moving company, which took him to some interesting places and moving rather large amounts of belongings; a museum was one big move he enjoyed.

Jeff also loved the game of golf and bowling, often joining his dad in many leagues and father/son tournaments over the years while in Minnesota. He had a mighty golf swing and could roll the bowling ball down the lane to what sounded like a shattering of the pins at the end.

Jeff was always there for his family and friends, helping them whenever needed.  He answered a friend’s call for help when he was starting up a new company. That was the call that brought Jeff out to Brighton, Colorado but he still never let go of his Vikings, still sporting his Viking shirts, hats, and winter jacket; a true dedicated fan!  Jeff loved what he did and got a lot of satisfaction knowing he helped a good friend with the startup of a successful business. He realized he had a passion for operating a small business, which he continued to do up until his passing.

Jeff provided a good home to a dog whose family could no longer keep.  Jeff’s heart soon melted for he realized he gained a great companion in Yena, his gorgeous German Shepard/Wolf mix.  It didn’t take long before Jeff and Yena were rarely apart.

While in Colorado, Jeff soon got closer to his niece Jessica and nephew Michael, being a part of their young lives as they grew up.  Jeff taught Michael the game of golf, which they enjoyed doing together. They both also had a love of professional football, and would travel to Las Vegas every year for the annual fantasy football league. Jeff and Michael were not only family but good friends.

Jeff had a soft spot in his heart for his niece Jessica.  Always there for her, helping her with anything she may need and made sure he was there for all the special events in her life, especially her wedding.

Jeff always had a smile on his face and a laugh that was so contagious, before you knew it, you were smiling and laughing with him.  He had a huge heart and was always willing to help anyone in need.  He graciously took his mom into his home when she needed a place to live and helped her out with other tasks when needed.

Jeff was a loving soul, with so much more to give and live for, and although all of us left behind may not truly understand why he was taken back home so soon, we can cherish all our memories with Jeff that will forever be in our hearts. “We love you Jeff and miss you very much! Your smile, laughter, loving nature, big soft heart, and loyalty to family and friends are an inspiration to us all and will never be forgotten.  Until we see you again our dear brother and uncle, please rest in peace.”

Jeff was preceded in death by his Mother Virginia (nee Kastenschmidt), Father Arlon, Brother-in-law Scott Lemminger, Grandparents Alice and Martin Tesch, and Alyce and Herbert Kastenschmidt. Jeff leaves behind to cherish his memory his sisters; Julie Lemminger of Green Bay, Pam Smith of Wesley Chapel, FL, and Sue (Kevin) Tess of Pewaukee.  His special niece and nephew, Michael O’Brien of Brighton, Co, and Jessica (Eric) Butterer and great nephews Leo and Zealand of Tampa, FL, along with several cousins and friends.

A Special Thanks to all of our many loving wonderful family and friends who helped us through this very difficult time.  We couldn’t have managed without all your support.
