Joe F. Montoya

Joe F. Montoya (72) passed away on September 9, 2018 at his home in Brighton, Colorado. Joe was born on May 13, 1946 in San Ignacio, New Mexico to Bernie (Fresquez) and Nicholas Montoya.

Joe worked for Tri-State Insulation for over 20 years. He lived in Brighton for most of his life and graduated from Brighton High School in 1966. He was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. He loved fishing, camping and having his family together for BBQs.

He is survived by his four children Anna (David) Vargas of Brighton, Colorado, Christien (Ray) Beggs of Brighton, Joey (Lorraine) Montoya of Denver, Colorado, Brian (Veronica) Montoya of Brighton; nine siblings Alice Welch of Brighton, Alex Montoya of Brighton, Pete Montoya of Brighton, Lawrence Montoya of Brighton, Marie Martinez of Denver, Irene Flores of Brighton, Dorothy Montoya of Brighton, Leonard Montoya of Westminster, Robert Montoya of Brighton and 13 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his three siblings Marilyn, Margie and Charlene.

Viewing will be held at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 6 pm with Rosary to follow at 7 pm.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Augustine Catholic Church Thursday, September 13, 2018 at 11 am.

Graveside will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery Friday, September 14, 2018 9:15 am staging area "C".
