JOE HERBIE SERNA
Joe entered this world on October 16, 1983 in Westminster, Colorado to his parents Benny and Susan Serna. Joe lived life to the fullest and was extremely loyal to his family, friends and loved ones. Anyone that knew Joe, knew where you stood or how he felt. Joe had many different occupations and to mention a few: landscaping, property management, coaching and working for Santiagos. Joe had great passion for being a dog owner, breeder and trainer.
Joe had many hobbies, but wrestling tops the list. Joe wrestled at a high level, participating and winning National tournaments. One of his proudest moments was winning the high school state wrestling championship in 2000 for Fort Lupton High School. After graduating from Brighton High School in 2003, Joe’s passion to compete in a physical sport transferred to representing Ft. Lupton as it’s first documented Professional MMA fighter where he held 3 championship belts. Joe also loved hiking, weightlifting, walking his dogs and some free time.
On January 29, 2011 Joe’s life changed and it was the proudest moment of his life, when his son Kaden Benny Serna was born. Joe’s undeniable love for Kaden guided him to pave the way for him to wrestle and play sports. Joe glowed everytime Kaden showed success on the mat or field.
Joe loved to take Kaden and his nephew Josiah to sports, events and fishing. He was their biggest fan. Joe never held back how proud he was of both young men and told everyone how much of “bad dudes” they are.
Joe had a special connection with his sisters, Vanessa and Marissa: his unbelievable loyalty and devotion to protect them and his mother Susan was never shaken.
Joe had an unbelievable devotion to his faith and it remained unshaken to his final moment. Joe touched many and was a giving person.
Joe was given his wings on August 30, 2022. He is survived by his son Kaden, mother Susan Serna (Vince Sanchez), sisters, Vanessa (Ray) Gonzales, Marissa Serna (Mark Gonzales), his nephew Josiah and his girlfriend Rozalyn Schultz. He is preceded in death by his father Benny Serna and his grandparents, Joe Rios, Nellie Rios, Albert Serna and Josie Serna.
