John Archuleta Obituary

John Albert Archuleta, Jr. was born in Red River, NM on May 8, 1936, to Juan Archuleta, Jr and Aurelia Medina. John moved to Denver with his family after the death of his father when he was five years old and grew up in west Denver. John had 4 children from a previous marriage: Jeanette Urban (Don), Sandy Archuleta, John Archuleta (Carlotta) and Dave Archuleta (Berta). As a young man, John enjoyed bowling competitively, shooting pool and coaching his son's Little League baseball team.

John had a long career in sales with H Bar C Western Wear traveling throughout the Western United States. He was a very good salesman who cared about his customers and his relationships with them. He was extensively involved with the Western & English Sales Association at the Denver Merchandise Mart and held executive positions in the organization including president over many years. Upon retirement he drove shuttle busses at DIA for Enterprise Rent a Car for eight years. He loved to talk to the customers and tell them what sites to see in Colorado.

John married Barbara Isenhart on March 21, 1987. Barb was the love of his life and he hers. They were inseparable friends who did everything together from trout fishing to gambling to traveling. They combined all these pursuits when they went salmon fishing in the northwest with the Isenhart's. John and Barb spent many a night enjoying the company of family and relatives after a successful day of fishing for the big ones.

Barb and John also enjoyed vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico with family and friends. John would surprise waiters and staff with his fluent Spanish and easy charm. He loved being in Mexico and was the perfect friend to have along when an interpreter was needed.

John died December 26, 2021, after a long and happy marriage to Barb. John was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joe, Gilbert and Frank and sister Mary. He is survived by his wife, Barb, sons John and Dave and daughters, Jeanette and Sandy. There are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John was a loving and generous man who will be loved and missed by those who knew him.
