Johnny Balderas

Juan “Johnny” Balderas, 53, of Fort Lupton, CO, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, surrounded by his beloved family.  

He was born in Denver, Colorado on March 7, 1971, to Juan and Sabas Balderas.  He grew up in Fort Lupton, graduating from Fort Lupton High School in 1990, and went on to dedicate 37 years of his life to the healthcare industry, where he made an impact on his residents and colleagues alike.  His warmth, humor and devotion to all left a lasting impression on everyone he met.  

Johnny is preceded in death by his father, Juan; his sister, Cynthia Tijerina; and his cherished children, Anthony Juan, Savannah Gloria, and Dinah Lee. He is survived by his mother, Sabas; his children, Jared (Amber), Gavin (Alexis), Zoe, Noah, and Lilah; and his grandchildren, Kaleb, Vanessa, and Ivy. Johnny also leaves behind his sister, Debra Smith (Spencer), along with his nephew, nieces, and extended family who will forever hold him close in their hearts.

To his family and friends, Johnny was a bright spirit—a jokester who lit up the room with his infectious laugh and smile. He loved being outdoors, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. Known for his bear hugs, exceptional cooking, and love of music, Johnny found joy in pool parties during the summer and in bringing everyone together. Above all, his children and family were the center of his life and his greatest pride.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, at Tabor Rice Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to attend the viewing from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by the service at 11:00 a.m. A reception will be held afterward at Columbian Home Event Center in Brighton, Colorado, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Johnny's life and the many memories he leaves behind.
