Jose Calletano Padilla

Jose Calletano Padilla, J.C., was born on June 9, 1948 in Las Vegas New Mexico, and passed away on March 11, 2022. The seventh child of Pedro and Conferina Padilla, he was raised in Brighton Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, Pedro and Conferina, his brother Joseph, sisters Mary Ann and Emma Padilla. He is survived by his son Joseph Curtis Padilla (Brittany), grandchildren Janessa, Brooke, Kaulin and Jameson, his siblings Victor Padilla (Irene), Polly Clifford, Gil Padilla, Beth Verdeal and Linda LeBallister.

JC was a man with an abundance of charm, charisma, intelligence and love.  Everyone who knew him has wonderful memories because he always spent his time with them, teaching, making everyone laugh, creating games for his son and nieces and nephews. He has a special place in the hearts of many children because he made them feel special and gave them his full attention. He was special to all of us, now grown,but with a permanent place in our hearts.

JC lived life on his own terms, fiercely independent, and with exuberance few others dare. There was no keeping up with him. He came home now and then, but adventure called him, and he would be off again before long. He was a man with angels, luck and God on his side, with more than 9 lives, he escaped certain death often. 

JC doesn’t rest. He will stop for a short while and somehow there will be another love and another great adventure. Via con Dios.

The family invites you to celebrate his life and to attend his memorial service on Thursday, April 21st,  2022 at 12PM at Tabor Funeral Chapel, 75 South 13th Avenue.
