Joseph Michael Padilla

Joseph Michael Padilla, 70, of Brighton, Colorado passed away on August 18, 2019, in St. Francis, Kansas.

Joseph was born on July 13, 1949, in Brighton, Colorado to parents Corcinio & Lillian Padilla.  He graduated Brighton High School.  Joseph married Susan Ramirez on September 24, 1966 at St. William Catholic Church in Fort Lupton, Colorado.  He entered the United States Army and served for three years before working in the construction field.

Joseph may be remembered for being quite the jokester; he had an awesome sense of humor.  He was a family man and made time to spend with family members and friends.  He was a “jack of all trades.”  Joseph was an avid baseball player himself and enjoyed following the Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos teams.  He loved to hunt and fish in his free time.  Joseph was also a fan of cowboy movies, in particular “Gun Smoke.”

Joseph is preceded in death by his wife, Susan Padilla; and siblings, Gilbert Padilla and Donna Padilla.  He is survived by his children, Roxanne Martinez and Mike Padilla; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and siblings, Harry Padilla, Elane Martinez, Albert Padilla, and Eddie (Christina) Padilla.

Family and friends may pay their respects during visitation on Sunday, August 25, 2019, beginning at 6:00 p.m., with Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. all at Tabor Funeral Home, 75 South 13th Avenue, in Brighton, Colorado.  Graveside Services with Military Honors will be Monday, August 26, 2019, at 11:15 a.m., at Fort Logan National Cemetery, Area “C”, 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard, in Denver, Colorado.  Please gather at Staging Area “C” by 11:00 a.m.
