Joseph Steven Trujillo, 77 of Firestone, Colorado unexpectedly passed away on May 6, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family.

Joseph was lovingly known as Honey, Dad, Papa, Pops, Brother and Uncle Steve

Steve was born of February 20th, 1946, in Fort Lupton, Colorado and was raised by the Family of Jake & Josephine Trujillo.  They resided comfortably and simply in Volmer Colorado. Where he was the youngest of 6 siblings.

He is preceded in death by his Father Jake Trujillo, his mother Josephine Trujillo, his sister Louisa Trujillo, his brother Charles Trujillo, his brother Victor Trujillo, and his sister Ruthanne Grajeda all of whom he missed dearly.

Steve was a proud member of the United States Army, where he was stationed at Fort Polk in Louisiana.  He was Honorably discharged in 1967 to return home to his family.

He met his wife Paulette Garcia in 1971 where he fell in love on the dance floor in her arms. They built a life in Firestone, Colorado and were blessed to have 51 glorious years of marriage and raise 3 beautiful children whom he loved to take camping, fishing and riding around on the back of his motorcycle.

Steve was employed for 40 years and retired from Metro Water Recovery where he was fortunate to work alongside such great people whose names and stories have become part of our lives.

Before his untimely departure Steve was a Full Time Family man.  He treasured his time with his wife and would spend his days waking up with the Sunshine, checking in with his Children, his grandchildren and his extended family whom he loved dearly. In the afternoon he would spend time dabbling with his classic cars and ended each day laying down beside the Love of his life.

Steve is survived by his beautiful wife of 51 years Paulette Garcia Trujillo, his daughter Celeste Morales and her husband Jimmy his daughter Pamela Trujillo, his Son Joseph Steven Trujillo II and his wife Ashlee and his sister Susan Sailas and her husband Victor.
