Juan Salinas

Juan Salinas (Don Juanito).   Juan was born in Palo Blanco, Texas  to Maria De La Luz Torres and Manuel Salinas.  He was one of  eight siblings. He married the love of his life Blasa Lopez. 

Juan spent the majority of his life in Laredo, Texas working as a general laborer for the City of Laredo, Texas.  Juan loved to do yard work in his spare time.  In June 1979 Juan retired.  Later that year in December of 1979 his wife Blasa passed away.  In 1981 he decided to relocate to Fort Lupton, Colorado where he spent the rest of his life with his children.  

One thing Juan enjoyed was  walking and he would always be seen walking the streets of Fort Lupton and wave everyone he passed.     He would always walk to his kids homes and start doing the landscape on their yards even if they were not there.   He loved to keep active.  He did not know a lot of English but was very friendly and met a lot of people.   He was very well known as “Don Juanito”.  The one thing he loved was dancing, walking and a can of pepsi in his hand. 

Juan is survived by his children, Roberto Sanchez, Maria D Salinas, Juan Manuel Salinas, Jose David Salinas, Rosalinda Solis, Ricardo Salinas and Juan Salinas Jr. along with seventeen grandchildren,  Roberto Sanchez Jr. (Spouse Valeria Sanchez),Vanessa Sanchez, Norma Sanchez, Rigoberto Sanchez ,Belinda Lopez (Juan Jose Martinez), Francisco Solis (Roxanne Rivera) , Bernadette Salinas, Anthony Salinas, Daniel Lopez, Celina Salinas, Joshua Salinas, Hector Solis (Ashley Primm), Ryan Salinas (Noemy Salinas), Nathan Salinas, Lexi Salinas, David Salinas Jr., Sujedy Rivera.  He is also survived by thirty-seven great grandchildren, Dominic Toby Chavez, Aneesa Christine Chavez, Timothy Keith McCalman Jr., Xzavier Marquis McCalman, Diego Solis, Sadi Solis, Darius Solis, Adryan Joel Lopez, Jaslene Leaha Lopez, Valeria Suzette Lopez, Alyssa Justine Martinez, Jazelle Martinez, D’Angelo Juan Martinez, Joe Sanchez, Joel Sanchez, Juan Zapata Jr., Angel Zapata, Anthony Sanchez, Alayda Gonzalez, Ernesto Gonzalez, Ethan Gonzalez, Alejandro Emmanuel Sanchez, Vanely Sanchez, Roberto Sanchez III, Natalie Sanchez, Alexis Sanchez, Freddy Marroquin, Israel Alvarado, Benjamin Alvarado, Braden Salinas, Branden Salinas, Aryonna Salinas, Breeana Salinas, Jordan Salinas, Selina Salinas, Genesis Salinas, Sophia Salinas. 

He is  preceded in death by his wife Blasa Lopez; three sisters Hortencia, Dominga and Josefina; 2 brothers Cosme and Manuel; grandson Thomas Lopez Jr.
