Julia Lynn Roney Williams, 64, passed away peacefully in her home in Hudson, Colorado on June 17, 2020, surrounded by her husband and children. She was born May 3, 1956 in Hagerstown, Maryland to William ‘Bill’ and Betty Roney.
Julie graduated from South Hagerstown High School in 1974, and from the Maryland Medical Secretarial School. She was employed by several businesses in the Hagerstown area including Washington County Hospital and McGrory and Schaeffer Law Firm, before moving to Colorado with her husband, Randy in 2011.
She is survived by her husband, Randall Williams, her mother, Betty Jeanette Houser Roney, her daughter Alexandra Koch Russell (husband Jeremy), her son Jonathan Koch (fiancée Natalie Loechel), her sister JoAnne Roney Lease (husband Victor), and her brother John H. Roney (wife Sue, grandsons Gabriel and Cameron Conder). Julie is also survived by two grandchildren, Samantha and Skyler Russell, and three nephews Aaron M. Glosser (wife Christina, daughter Brianna), Nathanael Roney (wife Kim) and William Roney (wife Penny).
Julie was preceded in death by her daughter Samantha Jennifer Bittner, her father, William Vance Roney, maternal grandparents Charles and Mona Arlene Houser, and paternal grandparents Ray V. and Catharine Roney.
A memorial service was held by the family on June 20, 2020, in Hudson, Colorado at First Baptist Church of Hudson. A second service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 13156 Edgemont Rd., Smithsburg, MD, on Saturday, June 27, 2020, with a general visitation hour at 10:00 am, followed by a family-limited service at 11:00 am. The family is requesting everyone to dress in bright colors in lieu of the traditional black. Precautionary face coverings are required.
