Kalyn Brittney Stricklett-Martinez

Kalyn Brittney Stricklett-Martinez was born in Brighton Colorado on July 21st, 1995, to Marty Stricklett and Brandy Carter. She married the love her life Drew Martinez on September 21, 2019.  Kalyn went to see the Lord on January 19, 2025, at 3pm. She was 29 at the time of her death.

Kalyn attended Brighton High School and graduated in 2014. She spent her entire life in the Brighton area, and most recently was a preschool teacher where she was able to teach and mentor young lives.   

As a child Kalyn loved to sing, playing with her dolls, pretending to be their mommy, and loved animals. Kalyn was obsessed with her princesses and now she is Jesus’ princess. She has always loved her family and, even as a child, never wanted to miss out on family events. Kalyn was a selfie queen and had over 900 selfies saved.  If you ask anyone Kalyn was the boss, and everyone knew that. Kalyn also grew up at the softball field even though that was the absolute last place ever wanted to be.   

Kalyn loved to travel with her husband and family. She most enjoyed her trips to Cancun, Arizona, and Alabama. She loved Shania Twain and spending times with her friends.  Kalyn was a lover of animals especially her fur babies.

Kalyn went to see the Lord due to medical complications of an ear infection.

Kalyn was survived by her husband Drew Martinez, parents Marty and Brandy Stricklett, grandparents Bruce and Chris Stricklett, Grandma Marty Carter, and brother Dylon (Ann) Stricklett. She was also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. She was preceded in death by Grandpa Bob Carter.

Viewing to be held at Tabor Funeral Home in Brighton, Colorado at 10am on Saturday, January 25th with the funeral ceremony following at 11am.  Reception to follow at The Elks Lodge in Brighton Colorado at 12:30.
