Karen was born in Denver, Colorado to Leonard and Frances Vigil on July 15th, 1960, and was the second of five siblings. She was born 14 minutes before her twin sister.
Karen grew up and made her home in Commerce City, Colorado. Karen, a divorced mother of 3, reconnected with her childhood friend Richard in 1997. They started dating, quickly fell in love, and have been together happily for 27 years.
Karen was a homemaker and an amazing cook. Some of her most loved dishes were Menudo, Tamales, Enchiladas, Empanadas, and Popcorn Balls. We can’t forget how much everyone loved her Rice Crispy Balls. You never left Karen’s house empty handed, you would have been fed or had a sweet treat for the ride home. Another one of her many talents involves crafting. She loved making flower arrangements, diaper cakes, and decorations. Other hobbies she enjoyed consists of camping, fishing, gambling, and collecting themed villages. Karen’s home was always decorated for each holiday
Karen is survived by her husband Richard Lovato, daughter Bernadette (Ernie) Ramirez, sons Michael and Rick Lucero, 8 grandchildren, Father Leonard Vigil, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother Frances.
