Today we celebrate the life and cherish the memory of Kathleen Virginia Bolson, affectionately known as Kathy, who graced this world with her presence from February 22, 1943, to October 29, 2024. Born in Larned, Kansas, Kathy's journey came to a peaceful close in Trinidad, Colorado, due to surgical complications from a blood clot and embolus.
Kathy's life was one marked by love, creativity, and service. She was a dedicated partner to her late husband, Lloyd Lee Bolson, who passed just months before her. Together, they nurtured a family full of love and laughter, raising their children Lanette, Jennifer, Wade, Eric, and Matthew with care and affection. Kathy was the proud grandmother to Branden, Richard, Alex, and Celina, and she delighted in her great-grandchildren Jordee, Alexia, and Elise.
The daughter of Hugh and Ruby McDonald, Kathy was the youngest of five siblings.
Though she outlived Lesley, Mary, Donna, and Scott, the bonds of family remained a cornerstone of her life. Kathy's warm and friendly nature was a beacon of light to her family and all who knew her.
Kathy's professional life was as diverse as it was impactful. She devoted herself to the wellbeing of others as a nurse assistant, shared her passion for creativity as an art teacher, and supported the growth of young minds as a PARAPROFESSIONAL. Her commitment to nurturing the potential in others was unwavering and deeply appreciated by all who benefited from her kindness and expertise.
A talented artist, she found solace and joy in painting, often capturing the beauty of the natural world on canvas. Her artwork was not only a testament to her skill but also to her profound ability to see and evoke beauty in the everyday.
Kathy's interests reached far beyond her artistic pursuits. A woman of faith, she found strength and community in Bible study. Her love for the outdoors was evident in her enthusiasm for gardening and camping. Kathy was an avid reader, always eager to explore new worlds and ideas through the pages of a book. But above all, family time was sacred to her, a source of endless happiness and fulfillment.
Those who knew Kathy would describe her as loving, friendly, and incredibly creative. Her ability to connect with others, to create beauty and to nurture growth, made her a cherished member of her community.
As we bid farewell to Kathleen Virginia Bolson, we reflect on a life well-lived, a legacy of love, and the countless lives she touched. Her spirit and the memories she leaves behind will continue to inspire and comfort her family, friends, and all who were privileged to know her. Kathy's journey on earth has ended, but she will be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit and for the love she had for her family. Her story is a tale of a woman who lived with her heart wide open, embracing the beauty of life with every brushstroke, every planted seed, and every shared moment.
