Keith Broadbent Obituary

Keith Broadbent passed into Our Father’s hands on April 20th, 2022, at the age of 69.  He transitioned in peace, surrounded by family and friends.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents Basil and Merlene Broadbent, and his brothers Bill and Steve.  Keith is survived by his adoring wife, Kay Broadbent, and two children Meloni Lemoine and husband Phil, son Nicklaus Broadbent, and two amazing grandsons Michael Thomas and Isaac Snyder.  Keith’s surviving relatives are his sisters Mary Anderson and husband Dale, Margaret Fahrlender and husband Larry, and Rita Erickson.  Keith comes from a large family, as the fifth of six siblings, he will be remembered by the many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family!

Keith is a man of the mountains, born in Worland, WY.  His faith-based journey led him to Houston TX, where he met the love of his life, Kay – whom he followed (via hitchhike) to Anderson IN to propose! Keith & Kay married June 28th, 1974, in Billings, MT.  Keith and Kay lived in many different states, eventually returning to the snow-capped region of Lochbuie, CO where he retired from a 30-year career with General Motors.  Keith recently earned an honorary graduate status from Natrona County Highschool’s 50th year class reunion.  This made Keith’s heart whole, as a sense of returning home.

An outdoor enthusiast, Keith instilled a love for the outdoors teaching his children and grandsons about camping, hiking and natural exploration.  He extended this love to the community by volunteering with Boy Scouts of America for many years.  Keith enjoyed the sport of cycling, earning many tour badges, completing 100 to 150-mile rides! He belonged to the cycling community, working in a local repair shop while learning to design and build custom frames. Throughout his life, Keith provided for his family and community as a skilled maker and craftsman. A lifelong learner, Keith continued his education in humanities, communications, business, computer science, and earned a graphic design degree. Above all else, Keith is most known as a humble servant, offering his skills and talents to serve those in need with joy and without judgement.

We are comforted knowing that Keith is at peace with Our Lord. Memories of Keith continue through the true love and goodness of God shown through Jesus.
