Kenneth John Sweeney, age 64, passed away peacefully at home on January 16, 2026, surrounded by loved ones and his dogs, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He will forever be loved and never forgotten for the lasting impact he made on each of our lives.
In accordance with his final wishes, Kenny asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital—a request that perfectly reflects the kind, generous man he was.
Kenny was born on September 24, 1961, to William and Velma Sweeney and was the youngest of seven boys: Bill, Chuck, Don, Mike, Marty, and Pete. He graduated from Westminster High School, Class of 1980, and went on to pursue a career in hardwood flooring, a trade he took great pride in.
In his pastime, Kenny enjoyed the company of family and friends, good music, and making memories. At any gathering, he was always the life of the party. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from—he was a dad, a grandad, or the friend you could always count on.
Kenny never went a day without coffee and lottos and loved camping, fishing, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and dogs. He never missed a ball game or school function, no matter how far the drive, and especially never missed an episode of Jeopardy with Ralph.
We find comfort in knowing Kenny has been reunited in heaven with his parents, William and Velma Sweeney; his brother, Don Sweeney; granddaughter, Ronnie Kay; and other beloved family and friends.
Kenny is survived by his brothers Bill, Chuck, Mike, Marty, and Pete; his daughters, Amber and Samantha; his business partner, Ralph; and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
We are having a celebration of life for Daddy on Friday February 13th. At Keensburg County Fairgrounds at 3pm. (7758 County Road 59 Keenesburg, CO 80643)
We would love to have everyone come celebrate Ken's life. Anyone and any all are welcome you know dad "the more the merrier" food and drink will be served but not knowing a head count everyone is more than welcome to bring a side dish.
