LaLani Francina Dockter

Lani Dockter, 67, beloved wife, step-mother, sister, and friend passed away at her home in Fort Lupton, Colorado on August 2nd, 2023, after many years of failing health.  She was preceded in death by her much-loved husband of 42 years; James (Jim) Dockter and her parents; Frank and Anna Rice.

Lani was born and raised in Denver and Arvada, Colorado and had been a long-time resident of Fort Lupton, Colorado.  She was a long standing, masters degreed nurse and was recently retired from St. Luke’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado where she worked in several departments including critical care and patient education.

Lani loved animals.  She raised prize Dutch Lop-eared rabbits for many years.  She loved dogs and cats and worked side by side with her husband Jim, raising sheep, goats, and chickens.

Lani is survived by her step-sons; James Dockter of Roswell, New Mexico, Jeff (Nancy) Dockter of Lubbock, Texas, a grandson, and granddaughter, four great grandsons as well as brothers; Scott Zbryk of Evergreen, Colorado and Brian Rice of Belton, Missouri.
