Larry Campbell Obituary

Larry Bruce Campbell passed away with his children by his side at Life Care Center Stonegate in Parker, CO on December 11, 2024, at 75 years of age. He was born on March 21, 1949, in Englewood, CO to Harry and Elizabeth (Betty) Campbell. He was the youngest of 4 children.

He married Cheryl Trupp on April 25, 1971. They started their married life in Denver. After a year, they moved to Prospect Valley to be near Cheryl's family and work on the family farm.

He graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Denver where he was active in football and wrestling. He worked in food service during high school. After graduation he worked in the shipping department at Bostich Staple Company where he met the love of his life, Cheryl.

Larry worked for a time at Al West Paint Company before he and Cheryl decided to move to the family farm. Larry quickly transitioned from busy city life to hard working farmer. Once Cheryl's dad retired from farming, Larry stepped away and found jobs that took advantage of his innate navigation abilities. When he worked for Pony Express and Tagawa Greenhouses he could route any driver quicker than any modern-day GPS. He often shared turn by turn directions with his children long before Google Maps was invented!

In 2004, Cheryl suffered a debilitating stroke that left her mostly immobile. Larry epitomized "In Sickness and In Health" and faithfully cared for her for the next 18 years. During this time Larry drove semi-trucks for various farming families in the community. It allowed him to stay close to Cheryl and attend to her needs until she passed away in 2023.

When he wasn't working, he was busy supporting his own children and many others in the community by coaching, providing transportation, serving as president of Metro Wrestling or cheering them on from the stands. Between his work and being present for his children, he amassed thousands of miles behind the wheel.

Larry is survived by his children, Michelle (Andy) Ratliff, Stephanie (David) Weinberg and Kevin Campbell. He is also survived by his grandsons, Daniel and Michael Ratliff, his brother, Jim (Sandy) Campbell, his sister, Linda Johnson and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Larry is preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl, his parents, Harry and Betty, his brother, Glenn Campbell and granddaughters, Riley and Abby Weinberg.
