Larry was born January 12, 1944 and raised in Albia, Iowa.
He was the youngest of five siblings born to Annibale and
Theresa DeCet.
Larry was a graduate of Iowa State University and enlisted
in the US Army one day after graduation. After basic
training he was assigned to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal
Denver, Colorado. He became a civilian employee for the
Department of Defense after his military obligation and
retired from the Arsenal in 2006.
Larry is survived by his wife of 33 years, Carolyn; two sons
Lonny DeCet, wife Annie and Kevin DeCet, wife Monika;
5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and stepson
Clint Guthrie, wife Yvette and stepdaughter Michelle LeDoux,
four step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.
Burial will be at Ft. Logan National Cemetery. Friends and
family are welcome to attend the military service. Larry’s wishes
were to have a celebration of life with the immediate family at
another time. No flowers please. If you wish, Donations can be made
to the Parkinson Foundation in his name.
