Larry Lindemann, age 79, passed away peacefully at home on December 10, 2025. He was born on January 30, 1946, in Davenport, Iowa, to Dorothy (Strohbehn) and Ronald Lindemann.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Davenport, where he attended Assumption High School. After graduation, he proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Army. Davenport remained his home for most of his life, until 2022, when he moved to Colorado to be closer to his daughters and grandchildren, a decision that brought him great comfort and happiness.
Larry had a deep love for NASCAR and any kind of racing, never missing a chance to follow the roar of engines. He was also a devoted fan of hockey and baseball, loyally cheering on his favorite teams over the years. Larry also found joy and peace in his garden, a love he learned from his mother and proudly passed down to his daughters.
Larry is survived by his daughters, Dorey Lindemann and Heidi (Mike) Menchaca; eight beloved grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride. He is also survived by his sisters Candy (Dave) Berg, Kathy (Wayne) Garrison, and Julie (Lindemann) Whittington; his sister-in-law Sue (Schroeder) Lindemann; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Ronald Lindemann; his younger brother, Ron Lindemann; and his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Hunter (Jenny Lindemann), whom he carried in his heart always.
In accordance with Larry’s wishes, no services will be held. His family will scatter his ashes in the Colorado mountains, which he loved and longed to visit, though his health never allowed him to do so.
Larry donated to many charitable causes and was a passionate advocate for democracy and the United States military. As a proud veteran and outspoken critic of the current administration, Larry would want you to know that he had the utmost contempt for Donald Trump.
