Lois "Dode" Schreiner Obituary

Lois “Dode” Mae Schreiner passed away on January 22, 2022 in Lafayette Colorado.  She was a longtime resident of Brighton and Longmont Colorado

Born on September 22, 1938 in Missouri Valley, Iowa to Henry Palmer (deceased in 2002) and Erma Grossner Palmer (1991).  She married Carl Schreiner in 1957 (deceased in 2012).  Lois had one sibling, Frank Palmer (deceased in 2003.

Lois graduated from Longmont High School in 1956

She worked in the Adams County Library system at Northglenn Library and Brighton Library for many years until she retired.

She is survived by her nieces, Cheryl Shepherd (Scott) of Lafayette and Brenda Palmer of Westminster. Special in her life were niece Renee Schreiner, great nephew Kellen Shepherd, Randi (Patrick) Baldwin and John Schreiner.

Lois and Carl lived on acreage outside of Brighton.  They enjoyed the country life, raising horses, caring for their property and friends.  Their doors were always open to visitors any time of the day or night.  They belonged to the Elks and the VFW where volunteered and they shared many happy times with family and friends.

Lois especially enjoyed being together with her family, traveling, celebrating birthdays and holidays and any time they could all be together.  Lois and Carl considered their many nieces and nephews as if they were their own children.  Many great memories were made with Uncle Carl and Aunt Dode.

Lois loved the fall and the mountains of Colorado.  She was an avid animal lover, adopting many stray cats and a few other rabbits and birds. Lois enjoyed painting with water colors and exploring other mediums.  She left numerous works of art she created that are now treasured by her family. Lois was kind, caring women, leaving a great empty place on this earth but joining her beloved Carl in heaven.  She will be forever in our hearts.
