Lorenzo Lobato

Lorenzo Lobato, who was known simply as Lorenzo, passed from this life on July 20, 2026, in Arvada, Colorado, at the age of 87, leaving behind a life marked by steadfast labor, quiet wisdom, and a spirited heart. Born on April 30, 1939, in Cuba, New Mexico, he came into the world in a humble place and, by the strength of his character, made his days a testimony to endurance, dignity, and devotion. He died of natural causes, and though his earthly journey has ended, the memory of his presence shall long abide in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He was a man of uncommon resolve, one who met the duties of life with a practical mind and an unwavering hand. Lorenzo served in the United States Army, bearing himself with honor in the service of his country. In later years, he labored in construction and auto body work, and in all such employment he was known as a very hard worker. He did not seek applause, nor did he ask for ease, but rather gave himself faithfully to the task before him. His hands were skilled, his judgment sound, and his nature such that others found in him a man both dependable and wise.

Those who knew Lorenzo would speak of him as analytical, wise, and spirited, and indeed these words do justice to the measure of his character. He possessed a mind that observed carefully and thought deeply, and he carried himself with a quiet confidence born not of vanity, but of experience. His spirit remained lively through the seasons of his life, and he brought to those around him a presence that was both steady and opinionated. He had the Lobato trait of being hard headed and drove most crazy but he was loved by all.  In the simple joys of life, Lorenzo found pleasure. He enjoyed his Bingo and loved to be at the casinos in Blackhawk.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Mary Amorosa Lobato and his parents Edwin and Della Lobato, his siblings Sosimo, Valente, Edwin, and Gilbert, whose memories remained with him throughout the years and 2 of his step-children Carol and Ronald. He is survived by his siblings Nora, Henry, Olivia, Carmel, and Marvin, together with his children, Della, George, Darrell and step-children Brenda and Edward. He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  

Lorenzo’s life was one of labor well done and days faithfully lived. Even though he couldn't really show us his love, we knew that he loved us in his own way.
