Madonna Jean McCollum, age 93, of Brighton, Colorado, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2026.
Madonna was born on November 29, 1932, in Minnesota, where she began a life defined by compassion, service, and dedication to others. She went on to earn her degree in nursing and spent many years caring for others as a registered nurse, a profession that reflected her deeply nurturing spirit.
Madonna was a loving and devoted mother to her two adopted children, William Kelsey and Christina Kelsey, whom she welcomed into her life over 60 years ago. Her family was the center of her world, and she took great pride in the lives they built together.
Madonna was also an accomplished athlete. She actively participated in the Senior Olympics, where she excelled in both swimming and running. Her commitment to health and vitality remained strong throughout her life.
A passionate advocate for her community and beyond, Madonna generously supported numerous charitable causes. Her giving spirit extended to organizations such as schools for the deaf and colleges in the Appalachian Mountains, along with many others close to her heart. She was also deeply committed to environmental causes, always striving to make a positive impact in reducing pollution and preserving the world for future generations.
Madonna was actively involved in her local community. She proudly served on the Brighton City Council and was a dedicated member of her HOA board, where she worked to improve the lives of those around her.
She is survived by her beloved spouse, Antonio Adonias Sandoval, her children, William Kelsey and Christina Kelsey, and all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
In the final chapter of her life, Madonna’s greatest concern was that Antonio would be cared for and supported. That was a true reflection of the loving, selfless person she was.
Madonna will be remembered for her kindness, strength, generosity, and unwavering dedication to family, community, and service. Her legacy will live on in the countless lives she touched.
