With the heaviest of hearts, her family announces that Mae M. Pollock, dedicated and loving mother to four, grandmother to seven, and great-grandmother to two, succumbed to her long, and bravely fought battle with pneumonia on January 4, 2023---She was 72 years old.
Mae took her final breath and got her wings, while surrounded at bedside by her children and grandchildren, and while in the thoughts and prayers of so many others who loved her. She was a beautiful, gentle, kind, and generous light in the world, and her presence will be deeply missed.
A homebirth on May 7, 1950, in Barrigada, Guam, Mae was the fifth-born child of ten, to her parents, Emeterio Ogo Blas and Rosalia Mesa Blas. At age 15, Mae's entire family moved permanently away from Guam to California, due to her father's Pan American Airlines job transfer. Much of her family is still in California.
It was at her own sister's wedding in 1968 that she met her soon-to-be-husband, "Gregg". Mae M. Blas married Dana Gregg Pollock on December 21, 1968. The couple would have four children (2 boys and 2 girls), and ultimately settle in Lafayette, Colorado.
Mae found her professional passion in the health and supplement industry by 1990. The next two decades would take her all over the continental U.S., and also Hawaii, as a product Rep for various health supplement companies. Mae even owned a health food and vitamin/supplement store in Broomfield, Colorado, from 1992-1997. She loved to share advice and help others with her knowledge of herbalism, nutrition, and natural remedies.
After retiring professionally, Mae made her final home in Brighton, Colorado, where she could be geographically close to all of her children and grandchildren. She was engaged on a daily basis with her kids and their families, and spent as much time as she could, making home-cooked favorite dishes to share with them. Mae's heart was always in the home-making aspects of her life; the cooking, the sewing, the cleaning, and the caregiving, which she was the BEST at....
.... Although her adult grand-daughters might argue that she was BEST at winning on slot-machines.
Mae was preceded in death by her parents, E.O. and Rosalia Blas, her brothers, Ernie, Jose, and Bill Blas, and her sister, Lourdes Blas. She is survived by siblings, Fred Blas (Betty), Juanita Concepcion, Joe Blas (Terri), Tony Blas, Ronald Blas (Letha), her four children, Michelle Bonny, Eric Pollock (Kari), Kacii Pollock, Adam Pollock, her seven grandchildren, Ryan Bonny, Abi Solis (Thomas), Camryn Bonny, Grant Pollock (Josey), Alexa Pollock, Mason Bonny, Avery Pollock, and great-grandsons, Emmett and Kayden Solis.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, at Tabor Funeral Home, 75 S. 13th Ave, Brighton, Colorado, at 11:00 a.m.
