Manuel Macias, 75, of Thornton, Colorado was born in Brighton, Colorado to Aurelio Macias and Jennie Ruiz. He graduated from Brighton High School in 1949. He studied commercial art and attended Community College of Denver and received a degree in Architecture, drafting and technology. He married Micaela Martel on June 29, 1967 in Brighton, Colorado. He was a resident of Thornton, Colorado since retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 1970.
Manuel retired as a Major in navigation from the United States Air Force in 1970. He traveled the world. He was a Vietnam Veteran where he had 100 missions over Vietnam. He was celebrated with certification.
Manuel was a book worm and a computer whiz. He loved to travel and enjoyed his RV. He loved hiking. He enjoyed his Air Force reunions. Manuel was a loving father, husband and friend to all.
Manuel is survived by his wife, Micaela Martel of Thornton; sons, Dan Macias, Mike Macias, Marcus Macias of Thornton, CO, John (Julie) Macias of Brighton, CO, and Anthony Macias of Denver, CO; daughters, Dian (Jim) Martel-Hoemann and Kathy Macias of Denver, CO and Teresa (Richard) Chevarria of Thornton, CO; brothers, Richard Macias of Brighton, CO, Martin Macias of Northglenn, CO and Thomas Macias of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Irene Ruiz-Macias of Thornton, CO and Joann Mascaveras of Brighton, CO; Also survived by 6 grandchildren.
