Mardie Stoll Obituary

Mardie Susan Stoll-Brandt, 55, of Brighton, passed away in her home on March 2, 2019. She was born on November 16, 1963 to Henry “Hank” and Mary (Emme) Stoll in Denver, Colorado. In 1972, Mardie was in the 4th grade when the family moved to Brighton. She graduated in 1981 from Brighton High School in Brighton, Colorado.

Living in the country started her love of raising animals. She was a part of 4-H for several years, she showed many different animals at the County Fair. She also grew and canned her own cherries, and one year she won and became the Grand Champion, allowing her to take them to the Pueblo State Fair where she won 1st place.

Later she married Ron Brandt and had two amazing children. Paul and EmmeAnna. While raising her family she continued her education at UNC. It was there that she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education, with a minor in Spanish. This led her to her career as a “English as a Second Language” Teacher. Over the years, Mardie inspired many underprivileged children, and took time to teach them the English language. She was constantly approached by former students who recognized her and remembered what a wonderful teacher she was. She brought a smile to so many children’s faces, this was one of Mardie’s best qualities and one of her greatest joys in her life. After retiring from her teaching career, she continued to teach Religious education classes at both St. Williams and St. Augustine Catholic Churches.

In 2013, Mardie moved from her home in Brush to live with her dad “Hank” and step mom Hazel, so she could help with Hazel’s terminal illness. Hazel passed away in July of 2014 in her home. This is when Mardie decided to make her move permanent, so she could provide around the clock care for her dad until his passed away in January of 2019. She took on this difficult task by herself, showing unconditional love and care for her family. Her entire family appreciated her selfless acts of holding the family together through these difficult years.

Mardie is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ellen Emme-Stoll in 2005; step mother, Hazel Marie Zigler-Stoll in 2014; father, Henry “Hank” Stoll in 2019; oldest sister, Mary Catherine “Kate” Stoll in 1997; youngest sister, Lisa Anne Stoll in 2008; and niece LaRue in 2009.

Mardie is survived by her son, Paul (Christi) Brandt; daughter, EmmeAnna (Corey) Brandt; brother, Henry “David” Stoll; grandsons, Dimitri, and Vincent; granddaughter, Lincoln; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

“Always with a laugh and a smile!”- She will be dearly missed.
