Margaret Malara Obituary

Margaret Rose Malara

Margaret Rose Malara, 89, of Colorado, passed away peacefully on May 3, 2026. She was born on June 18, 1936, in Denver, Colorado, to Frank and Ruth (Ginther) Nowacki.

Margaret was raised in Eastlake, where she attended school through the eighth grade before graduating from Brighton High School in 1954. She attended UNC Greeley for two years before getting a job as a phone operator. On January 18, 1957, she married the love of her life, Clyde Malara, in Raton, New Mexico.

Margie was a hardworking and spirited woman who took great pride in helping on the family farm alongside her husband. She embraced the physical demands of farm life and especially enjoyed driving tractors and trucks, as well as packing and delivering the produce their farm provided. She truly loved working with her hands and being outdoors.
Margie worked into her eighties.

A social and vibrant presence, Margie was always thrilled to entertain family and friends, particularly during the holidays. She was a terrific cook, with Italian meals being her specialty. She enjoyed dancing, playing cards, reading and taking trips to Las Vegas. She was also a devoted Denver sports fan, cheering on the Broncos, Nuggets, Rockies and Avalanche. Margaret lived an active life—always busy, always moving, and always working on something she loved. Her true joy came from her children, and being "Goomy" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret is survived by her loving children, Joey Malara and Theresa (Mike) Case; her grandchildren, Dominic Malara, Isabella Malara, Brittany Michaud, Ashley (Zach)Grein, Vince Case, and Nick Case; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Arya, Sylvie, Ramona, Zeb, Bleuzen, Oren, Wylie, and Finley. Along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Ruth (Ginther) Nowacki; her beloved husband, Clyde Malara; her sister and brother-in-law, Helen and John Knopf; her brother, Frank Nowacki Jr.; and her great-granddaughter, Ottilie Grein. Along with numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her strength, warmth, and tireless spirit will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of her family and friends.
