Maria H. Gonzales

Maria H. Gonzales “Orty”, (age 78) was called home to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 10, 2025 in Brighton Colorado.

She was born in Trinidad Colorado to Juan and Mary Martinez on September 24, 1947. Orty was the beloved middle child of a large, vibrant family of 12 children.

Orty built her life in Brighton Colorado, centered on faith, family, love, and selfless service to everyone around her. She was a devoted wife to Lorenzo Gonzales whom she married on May 13, 1967. Together they raised 3 boys, Lorenzo Jr., Thomas (wife Jennifer) and Gabriel. Her greatest pride and joy came from being the grandmother to 5 cherished grandchildren. Her profound love propelled her to both ends of the continent to remain an active part in the lives of Dana (Regina), Danielle, Maxwell, Alexis and Emily.

Orty enjoyed crafting for family and friends. Her products were very unique, personalized and always brought a smile. She had a warm hospitality, always opening her home to friends and family, or offering a hug or water or soda or anything! She loved to talk about family history, collect knick-knacks and mementos, and travelled to Europe twice.

Orty is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and 9 siblings: Carmen, Clyde, Bill, Willy, Isabel, Della, Rick, John and Evelyn. She is preceded in death by her parents and 2 siblings: Raymond and Gene. Funeral services will take place at The Healing Place Church in Brighton CO on November 18, 2025 at 11 am. (Viewing from 10-11 am)

A reception will follow at The Knights of Columbus in Brighton CO immediately after.
