Born in Denver, CO on July 31, 1962

Penny was the most giving and generous person. She loved deeply and fiercely. She gave of her heart completely. She was creative and always keeping busy with newly learned and perfected projects. Her family always benefited from all of her works she made with so much love. Penny loved God so much and found Him alive and moving in nature. She talked about the Lord daily with her daughter Jacqueline. She loved her children, grandchildren, her husband, mother, siblings and extended family with all of her heart.

She is survived by her husband Randy Zavala Sr, children Jacqueline Romero(Ruben), Randy Zavala Jr (April), Gabriel Zavala (Yvonne).
Grandchildren Dominic, Antonia, Olivia, Braiden, Merissa.
Sisters, Monica Smith (Shawn) Kathy Ochsner (Vaughn) and numerous  nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She is predeceased by her father John Andrew 'Buddy' Maestas, grandmothers and grandfathers Daniel and Pauline Barela, John and Phyllis Maestas.

 Post deceased by her mother, Antonia 'Toni' Maestas (passed Dec 20, 2021) and brother John Daniel Maestas  (passed Dec 29, 2021) 

Memorial service will be performed on Friday February 4, 2022 at 10am
at Queen of Peace Catholic Church
