Marjorie Snyder Obituary

Marjorie “Marge” Rose Sanders entered life on this earth on March 11, 1938, in Gary, South Dakota, born to Anton and Mary Sanders. She was preceded in death by her dad, Anton Sanders, mom, Mary Sanders, brothers Ed, Jim, Butch, Bill, grandson Austin Nielsen, and daughter Karleen Snyder Ring. Remaining siblings are Bernie, Tom, Tony, Kathy, and Cheryl.

While Marge was still just a child, the Sanders family relocated to Blackhawk, SD and then later to Rapid City, SD. Marge graduated from Cathedral High School in 1956 and later on in her life, in 1993, she graduated from Aims Community College with an Associate of Applied Science in Administrative Support.

Marge met the love of her life, Bob, through mutual friends and they were married in the “little” Cathedral in Rapid City, SD on June 30, 1956. Because of Bob’s work, the family traveled considerably, and it was not until 1971, when they laid down roots in Brighton, CO. Marge enjoyed being a stay-at- home mom and kept herself busy with laundry, baking, canning, and of course, all the daily activities of keeping up with Bob and their 3 busy children. After the children were in school full-time, Marge entered the work force in 1976 as a secretary at North Elementary and Overland Trail Elementary Schools, consecutively. She proudly worked for 24 years with the school district. When she retired, in keeping with her fiercely competitive spirit, she joined with Bob in a horseshoe throwing club and between the two of them, the trophies, plaques and ribbons were plentiful. Marge’s hobbies included gardening, photo memory albums, genealogy research and occasional trips to the casino. She shone her brightest when hosting family dinners and holidays.

Marge is survived by her son-in-law Brad Ring (Karleen), son, Robert “Rob” (Trish) Snyder of Craig, CO and her daughter, Lynette (Steve) Merich of Brighton, CO. She is further survived by her 9 grandchildren, Caleb (Jackie) Ring, Kari (Ryan) Nielsen, Amanda (Ryan) Hoff, Kendal, Tori and Tanner Snyder, Richard (Ariel) Merich, Rachel (Clay) Davis, and Riley Merich, along with 15 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Snyder.

Faith, Family and Friends were the pillar of Marge’s life, and it was, indeed, a life well lived! On January 15, 2025, Marge peacefully left this earth for her Heavenly home. God Speed, Marge, until we meet again!
