In Loving Memory
Mark Alan Janssen
March 2, 1959 – October 31, 2025
Mark Alan Janssen, of Keenesburg, Colorado, passed away on October 31, 2025.
Mark was truly a jack of all trades. Over the years, he took pride in mastering a wide range of jobs — from working with paint and cabinetry, to baking and cake decorating, to serving as a sales representative for Larson Distributing and Blish-Mize. He also worked at Anchor Paint, Home Depot, and Eshe’s, and served as a caretaker, before enjoying a well-earned retirement.
Mark’s faith guided his life. He sang in multiple church choirs throughout the years, most recently Jubilation and Mosaic at Zion Lutheran Church. His love for music and worship brought him great joy and connection with others.
When he wasn’t working or singing, Mark could be found cooking, gardening, fishing, or tending to his sheep and chickens. He enjoyed mowing lawns during the summer months and was never shy about sharing his dislike for winter — always with a sense of humor. Known for his quick wit, endless sayings, and the stories he loved to tell, Mark had a way of making everyone around him smile.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Hope Janssen; brother, Kevin Janssen; father-in-law, Jacob Dawson; and brother-in-law, Vernon Dawson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Cammie Janssen; daughters, Candice White (Tyler) and Janet Cowdery (Josh); son, William Janssen (Casandra); brother, Eric Janssen (Anna); brothers-in-law, Michael Dawson (Susan) and Darrell Dawson (Angela); and his grandchildren, Aaron, Xander, Trinity, and Charlie.
He also leaves behind his beloved dog, Stanley, along with many nephews, a niece and great-nephews and nieces.
Mark’s smile, laughter, and unwavering positivity will be deeply missed. His love for his family, faith, and life itself will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those who knew him.
