Mary A. Martinez

Mary A. Martinez "Della", 68, of Brighton passed away on April 21, 2008 at her home. She was born on December 11, 1939 in Denver to Jose and Antonia (Arguello) Vigil. She attended school in Brighton and Nursing School through Beverly Manor. She married Roberto Martinez on October 1, 1956.

Della worked as a waitress for many years in Brighton prior to becoming a CNA when she worked for Beverly Manor Nursing Home in Brighton. She also worked as a custodian for Brighton High School from 1980 - 2001 when she retired.

Della loved bingo and taking care of her dogs.

She is survived by her mother Antonia Vigil of Brighton, son Lonny (Vicky) Martinez of Brighton, daughter Roberta (Jim) Hicks of Brighton, son Ryan (Stephany) Martinez of Osh Kosh, Nebraska, sisters Joan Romero of Boise, Idaho and Delores Stafford of Colorado Springs, 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by father Jose Vigil, brother Dave Vigil and husband Roberto Martinez.

Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Friday, April 25, 2008 at the Tabor-Rice Funeral Home in Brighton. Funeral services will be at 11am on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at The Healing Place located at 17801 East 160th Avenue-Brighton, Colorado 80601.
